Setting a goal bigger then weight loss: Endurance sports a different New Year’s resolution
This new year’s many of us will make a ton of resolutions. Most of them tend to involve some type of weight loss. For many years I battled with the bulge and set more than enough new year’s resolutions to combat this, however this will be the first year that I will not be setting a weight loss goal and it is EPIC! That is because last year January 2010 I decided to embark on an huge task of running an Olympic triathlon: 1 mile swim, 25 mile bike and 6 mile run. I was really tired of the same old routine and I needed to shake things up big time.
This was probably one of the best decisions I have ever made in my life. It had me focus on a goal other than losing weight, and my triathlon wasn’t until the end of June so I knew that I could finish which meant no disappointments. I got extremely fit while checking one thing off the bucket list. Maybe it’s not a triathlon for you, it maybe a marathon or bike ride but think outside of the box this year when it comes to weight loss set new goals that will boost your confidence and not have your eyes glued to the scale 24/7.
